A few years ago I built a simple diode fuzz pedal for a friend. Skinny/Fat setting with different diodes for Treble-y/Bass-y distortion . I honestly don't remember what diodes I used, so I guess I'll never reproduce it, but whatever, here's what it sounds like:

My son recently started playing.  I would love to build him an amp and some effects pedals.  Any advice on where to get started?

I have a number of old build articles that I can look at to see if the chips are still available. If not, you can get amp boards pretty cheap online. The real magic happens before you get the signal to the power section. That and a good speaker.

If you start a new thread, I'll post a couple of older schematics I have where all parts are still readily available. I don't want to hi-jack this thread anymore than it has been.
