$3500 Speakers for $350? Klipsch KL-650 Inspiration
@grumpe1 thanks for the tips. I ended up using a 5mm chisel to scrape out some slots and that worked quite well, took about 5-10 minute each.
Well, it's been a productive speaker building day, and a not very productive work day. I got my left and right fully assembled. Pretty happy with how it's looking - from the pictures I though the drivers were a bit ugly so I went to lengths putting magnets in each corner of the baffle for a magnetic speaker grille, however it's looking pretty smart as is. Really happy with the aesthetics. I rounded over the side edges and applied the same round over on the stands. Once all three are finished I'll take some better pictures with our DSLR and post them - also did some nice cable management built into the stand which I can't wait to show. Haven't tested yet, I'll save that until they're fully integrated and my office is tidy again. The first thing I will hear out of them will be a pink noise test from my receiver haha. My Dad is beside himself waiting for the demo.
Tomorrow I am picking up a 2nd hand Emotiva UPA-7 which I'm very excited about, my Aventage RX-A3080 was going to be maxed out and I want more dynamic headroom.
Huge thanks to @123toid for the original design and support throughout the build. Definitely worth a tip, and I can't wait for the Klipsch cinema surround clone build!
They are looking fantastic. And I just got all the parts in to do the surround sound build. I'm really excited about it. So you shouldn't need to wait too much longer. 😁 Although I do have a few builds before it.
He has some really excited to hear how you like the emotiva.
@123toid Any project ideas I can use the 8 ohms for? Looks like the third party seller won't let me return them.
That doesn't sound right.
I'm assuming they don't have the 4ohm's for an exchange?
Did you contact Amazon?
If no luck there, ask your credit card customer service if they can help.
Even though they say no returns, you called prior to the pack arriving, and it would be returned unopened... a restocking fee, or covering the shipping cost wouldn't be unreasonable... but a flat out 'too bad for you'... I'll be shocked if Amazon lets that slide
6/19 edited to add: After looking at your original post dates... Is it correct that you tried to change the order or cancel just after placing it? If that's the case, make sure you press that fact. It's not a return at that point, and if the seller insisted on shipping it... it's not a standard return issue.
Here is a link to Amazon Chat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html?
I have had great success chatting directly with them. They have a lot more power. As long as you are polite and nice, they will get it done for you. Keep us updated.
Should have V2 box glued together today
Finished V2 today. They are fantastic! I love the high end on these. They are just crystal clear. I did a couple things different with this one. I used a different horn by eminence and a B&C tweeter. I also aligned the horn directly center on the six and a halfs. This maintains better on and off axis response. I wasn't sure if the Tweeter upgrade would be that significant. But I'll tell you that I am going to change out my other two for this. Here's a picture of it.

Terrific! It's always nice when efforts are rewarded with great results.
So does your theater double as a listening room... have you sampled any music thru them yet?
