Hi , do the speakers need to be recessed into the front baffle and how close do you need to be with the brace cut outs to the plan , my old fashioned cnc ie me a jigsaw and a router isn’t as accurate

@ralphee they should be recessed if you can. But I do understand that not everyone can recess them. You'll get a little bit more diffraction, but it'll still work.

As far as the brace itself, it can really be anything you want. I just did that design so that I could utilize the side of the brace for the side of the port and I also wanted some space back in the back where I could get to the terminals easily. But if you want to do it a differently, you could. So it's actual shape is really not that important.

@boogeyman I’m making a set of 5 speakers. I took the time to make two front baffles just as router templates for the five.  This way I place the template over the baffle and run my router with a top ball bearing on my plunge router for the full hole. Then I use my second template set for the cut outs to flush mount the horn and drivers.

The initial making of the templates was good planning and a circle jig for my router.

@chewbrocoli

Can you kindly please share the dimensions of the modified cabinet please? I'm going to convert the build in a 3 way and was thinking to add  one of the following woofers to the build 2 x Epique or   E180HE-44  or 1 x Ultimax 8" or 1 x MAX X 10".

Thanks,

Et

No it won't. I'd have to redo the crossover for that.

I couldn't say without having the actual drivers on hand. There's too many variables.
