my minimalist & budget approach for the "half ghosts"
~ just hoppin around ~
My first and only build so far.
Funny story: My wife got mad that I chose to build her some desktops for her office at work for her birthday as opposed to cleaning the house so I chucked them in the garbage.
Haha, funny story 😉 The build is pretty sweet. I like the cigar box enclosure. Funny story as well, I built my wife a bt boombox for her birthday. She loves it.
Completed small voxel sub with Tang Band W5, and small Lepai amp on the back. Front baffle is maple and rest is mdf.
Here is my version of the DINAS set up at my computer. I'm using the Dayton Audio CX120-8 for the mid and tweeter.
This is a great interpretation of the Dinas!
Here are a few pictures of the build process, measurements, and final product for my outdoor speakers. DC28F tweeter in SEOS 8 waveguide with GRS 8" woofer. I had planned sealed, but the cheap woofer ended up requiring an aperiodic vent consisting of a cheap 3" drain and 1" think project foam cut to fit inside.
This was my first build. They weren't designed by me. They are a great desk top speaks. The box was made from maple and the front baffle is Walnut
Nice looking speakers. I've shied away from building solid wood speakers because I've heard horror stories about wood movement and cracking. Did you use any special techniques to address that here?
Oh wow! I'm not sure that these even need to be heard. They could be a furniture piece. They are really beautiful. Nice work.
Left and right with power supply in between:
Since I'm working from home took my lunch hours and was able to put these together using some PS95s until I can make the boxes I planned to build.
