@jororaitchev - nice. Reminds me of lapping CPUs and heatsinks to a mirror finish (2000 grit wet followed by 3M Polish paper to 2500, followed by polishing compounds to bring to full mirror). Different topic, but similar process of sanding/polishing until glorious looking.

On the contrary, you are very much in the subject!
My "magic" tools;
@jororaitchev - Now that I've wiped the drool from my mouth. LOL. Mine (for CPU and water block face plates) is a granite surface plate (lapping electronics is to get it flat, and I haven't spent the money on a lapping rotating disc yet), then just the 3M wet dry 400 through 2000, then their polishing paper (which is amazing if you have not tried it yet). To finish, I use Luxor. If it doesn't have to be perfectly flat, I just use the chamois bit with my dremel and remove every last scratch that is still visible. But, if you need it flat, then it is best to get a chamois cloth or a flannel cloth (very soft version) to buff it out by hand. Takes longer, but don't have to worry about spending too much time on one spot making the surface uneven. Luxor polishing compounds are quite impressive.
I haven't tried the 3M polishing compounds you have there, but nearly got some considering how well I like their sandpaper and polishing paper (which I've also used with a rubber drywall sander, but I haven't bought a set for my electrical equipment yet because I haven't had a project recently that has needed it, although that may change in the coming months).
Things are clear, before the machines / and after them /, is the hands of the diyer. .
PS
Do you mind if I write to you in person?
@jororaitchev - I don't know if this forum has DMs. I am on AVSForum with the same handle, if you wish to contact me there.
