Hello from Denmark
Hi everybody - happy to have found you 🙂
Have build speakers before - but years ago and in a much more simple setup than what you can do nowadays 🙂
During the last month, I have been working from home due to Corona and my 5-year-old plan has started to solidify in my mind - So i'm looking for inspiration and some help!
Basically, I'm not allowed big speakers in the living room - the boss have the upper hand and i'm stuck with 2 options: an expensive setup that might not really give the music experience i'm also looking for, or building my own.
I'll do Sound furniture with some nice big drivers on either side ( 2.1 system ) and hopefully later on I'll do a soundbar as center.
But my wish list is giving me some headaches!
Welcome Casper! Sound like a great plan. I love furniture audio. Assuming we both mean the same thing, you mean you want to make some speakers that second as furniture. Like a subwoofer that is also an end table. Those are some of my favorite type of builds. I sometimes build some that look like pictures that hang on the wall. That way the speakers are heard not seen.
We can't wait to see what you come up with and hope to help along the way.
Thanks alot - happy to be here.
So I have been thinking a lot and my need list is:
HDMI arch input from tv
Looking at parts:
<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener">HDMI ARC Adapter, ARC Audio Extractor with Digital Optical TOSLINK SPDIF/ Coaxial and Analog 3.5mm L/R Stereo Audio Converter for HDTV Soundbar Speaker Amplifier - Newegg.com
<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener">Digital interface with HDMI / MHL input to I2S / Coaxial / Optique output - Audiophonics
Thinking this might do the trick
Airplay and Wifi:
<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener">WiFi&Bluetooth HiFi Stereo Receiver Board With I2S Up2stream Pro V2
<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener">TINYSINE TSA7500B 2.1 Amplifier Module Bluetooth TPA3221 aptX 2x100W + 200W - Audiophonics
This might be ok
Any good advice?
Drivers: Looking at some good full-range drivers but am undecided if I should go full range + sub - or mid + tweeter + sub.
The whole idea is to build it into a tv furniture of sorts, and have great movie sound but just as much great sound for music.
So any good thoughts that can point me in the correct direction? 🙂
Oh it took away all my links - hope you can see it with the names still there
But I am now a bit more confused so will start a new thread with my stupid questions
There is a post limit before you can post links. It just stops spammers from coming on the site and spamming links to some crazy dating, casino or some other website. If you want to PM me the links, I can add them for you. In the meantime if you want to comment on some more posts on the forum, it'll help you ge to the point of posting links. I can't remember if it is 5 or 10 posts.
