I have some questions about entering the speaker building contests.

1)  if you are entering  The under $200 price category, do you prices count?

2) can you enter multiple speakers in the same category?

3) can you enter multiple speakers at all?

I think that’s all I have right now but I’m sure I’ll have more as I start designing.

Also, do drivers have to come from PE?

I'd love to be able to answer your questions, but I've never participated. However if you go to their page and click the email link at the bottom, I'm sure they'll be happy to give you guidance.

$200 is just for the drivers.  So you may see some people enter $200 worth of drivers with over $200 in crossover work.  It is pretty crazy at times.  This year, that was by far the most competitive series.

You can enter multiple speakers, but I am not sure if they can be in the same category or a different one.

The drivers do not have to come from Parts Express.

@123toid

Well, I just ordered 4- 8” drivers, a 3” mid (I already have one) and 2- 1” dome tweeters and my total before tax was $68...  Other than the mid, it is all buyout stuff, but I figured worst case scenario, it gives me some drivers to play with. I have an idea for a tower speaker but after seeing PE’s most recent video on some of the speakers at 2019’s competition...wow!  I’m picking up the drivers tomorrow...we will see how it goes!

Holy cow!  You are going to be having some fun!  What drivers did you get?  I am really interested now.

I picked up the

DynaLab V22-DR-0003 8" Paper Cone Woofer and

DynaLab V22-DR-0004 1" Mylar Dome Tweeter

from the email PE sent. The woofers were less than $8 each and the tweeters were $2.

Then the Faital 3FE22 was $33 for one but I had one already that I won at MWAF raffle.

Neither of the DynaLab drivers have frequency responses but for less than $10 for one of each, who cares. We will see what I can do with them.

And here they are:

A2302B6C 025C 47D6 9A94 23191F64FA88

I’m pleasantly surprised by the build of the subs. I mean, they aren’t super magnificent but better than I expected for $7.
