I have a Scanspeak 3304/6600 tweeter I want to replace the existing Scanspeak 2604/8300 in my Proac speakers
Can I swap faceplates so I don’t have to do any routing work to fit the 3304/6600?
Thanks in advance!

December 14, 2023 at 8:37 am #52274@tone technically yes. You can replace the faceplate on any tweeter as long as you can match up the holes. This is where 3D printing really comes in play. A lot of people will design custom waveguides just for their tweeters. That way they can get the response and directivity they want.

Well Scanspeak got back to me and told me I can swap them.
However there might be a small chance that there will be air gaps and mechanical issues. And that it will void the warranty.
So go figure.
Ugh don’t you hate that ? Lol
This is the exact reply
Hello,
It is theoretically possible to exchange these two faceplates, but I will not recommend it. As there are minor differences on these faceplate rearsides that may cause airleakage or mechanical instabilities.
Anyway, you can try and if it do not work you can always go back to the original faceplate.
Please also notice, doing this will cause loss of warranty, if these are still under warranty.
Good luck.
