I want to use a passive crossover with my Dinas.  I know toid has mentioned that he might be working on that, but I wonder if I could use a prebuilt 3way like #260-154 from parts express. Thanks to all!

That wouldn’t work. You would end up having to create a custom crossover for it.  Honestly, I am not sure I will do a passive version.  There are a few people interested in it, however, what partially makes these so special is the customization that you would lose going passive.

BFR.  -I see the appeal in repurposing Dinas as passive, if you already have them, but that pre-built crossover will not give you the sound quality you desire.  I dont think those generic pre-builts provide any benefit other than possibly providing some balancing of resistance between the woofer and tweeter, and reducing the likelihood of damaging your tweeter.  It’s not going to tune the sound signature in any desirable manner.  Their best value is to stay powered as is.

I’ve came up with a possible crossover design.
    What are your thoughts?

    Nice day to all!

@The_Golias I do have a passive version for sale. Just a quick look at your crossover to help out in the future. First your impedance is too low. It hovers around 2ohm, which is going to be hard to find a lot of amplifiers that are going to handle that load well. Another thing to consider is you didn’t attenuate your mids, which will mean they will be playing much louder than your subwoofer. Also some of your parts are relatively high expense. Not saying you should be cheap, but you can get a better result with much less expensive components. Of course, I am going to assume you do not have the drivers, so you haven’t tested the response? These are manufacturers? Or these don’t include the offsets? Which would help account for some of these issues.

Either way great attempt! Just have a few things to work out.

Can I get the crossover plans and use my existing dinas?
