I built a pair of DINAS with all of the hardware recommended in the instructions. When I powered them on the Daytons had a loud 60hz hum. I was running audio out of the headphone jack on my MacMini and the power adapters though a backup battery which I use to filter the power for all of my studio equipment. I decided to try plugging the power adapters into another outlet (which was unconditioned) to see if the noise was a power issue on the battery’s power filter. When I turned on one of the DINAS I heard a loud pop and noticed the computer had powered down. After many failed attempts to power on the computer I realized that it was no longer capable of turning on.

…update… I left the MacMini unplugged for 12 hours and then it powered on the first attempt.  The headphone jack now outputs audio that sounds like it is running through a decimator style bit reducer but at least the computer is otherwise still functional.
