This past year has been incredibly busy for me. To the point where I have not been on here as much as I would like. And with the amount of Spam that we receive, I get more frustrated.
I have tried a few different forum plugins for the site and this is by far the worst one I have used. It promised to be good, but it lacks any form of moderation, besides me. Which I just cannot do.
Here are the options. If anyone is interested in helping me migrate/ change over from this forum to one that offers moderation that would be helpful. If anyone is interested in being a Moderator, after the switch that would be helpful as well. I am not usually one to ask for help, but I have gotten to the point where I realize I just cannot do it.
If we cannot figure it out or people do not want to help, then I have come to the realization that this has run it’s course and we will have to close it down. Let me know what you guys want to do. Feel free to email me sales@toidsdiyaudio.com

Thank you I did receive it. I am looking at options on how to switch over the forum to one with options for moderators. I haven’t found an easy way to do that yet. BUt I think it might be possible. Thankfully @TVOR-Ceasar has been helping giving some ideas for possible other programs to use.

yea if i could help i would but ive never run a forum before. if i didnt like this type of forum alot i would have said go to reddit but id preffer something like this XD

If we had a SPAM button or I had access to post removal and banning / member removal, things would be so much more accessible and orderly. This is what I do over on the Nuts n Volts forum (although I cannot remove members there). Spam there is severely reduced and dealt with swiftly.
Seriously, my offer to help stands. I love this forum and would like to see it thrive.

My offer to help still stands. All I would need is access to remove posts and ban accounts, preferably at the IP level.

Alright, here is where I am at with the Forum. I do want to keep it going and I want to be mroe active on it. But as it stands right now, it is hard as all I get time to do, is delete junk that should never be there.
The only option I have come up with is to switch to BBpress. That should help and allow me to have moderators, which would take a huge burden off. Not to mention BBpress should be better of keeping the spam out in the first place.
However, there is an issue. If I switch over, everything we have compiled might be lost. I am not saying it will, but that is a possibility. The current forum plugin is so not very friendly to export. But I can try. If you guys are okay with that, I can try to do that this month. That would save the forum for sure. Let me know your thoughts.

Should those of us who wish to keep our posts go through and back them up in some form or fashion?
Might take me a while as I have a coupe of really pressing (read that High Priority) things coming up in the next couple of weeks. I’ll probably start doing that anyway as here’s a few that I really want to keep / use.

That is exactly what I would do. I might try to switch over in the next week. But I will give a week for those that want to back things up they can. Hopefully, nothing will be lost.

I think it is worth the risk. This forum has already moved one platform so we just have to make sure that the new tool has all the features/plug-ins we would need. An open source forum that allows adding home grown custom plug-ins might not be a bad idea.
While @TVOR-Ceasar seems like a perfect candidate for moderation business, let me know if you would need technical help. Would like to extend my hand if I can help!

@TVOR-Ceasar and @Nate I am working on the new site. the good news is that on my staging site everything switched over without a hitch. meaning we did not lose anything. On top of that, I am able to make both of you Moderators! Which is awesome. It still might be a month or two away from being done, but so far, I am really happy with the progress.

I’ve been doing what I can to keep things moving, but those “pesky kids”, I mean bots, outnumber me.
