Got my box-o-parts from PE, and I’m contemplating the build My question this time is how I might go about using a round port instead of the slot shaped port in the original design. Is sticking with the same cross-sectional area and length enough, or is it more complicated than that?
Question number 2- there’s a 3 pin socket on the amp board right next to the 3.5mm jack. It’s Labeled Lin G Rin, so it appears to be an input alternative to the 3.5mm jack. I swear I did my due diligence on this by googling and poring through every document I could find about the board, but not a single one even acknowledged the existence of this socket, let alone it’s purpose. I was thinking about wiring the panel mount jack that will be accessible on the outside of the enclosure to this instead of using a 3.5mm extension. Maybe this is completely unnecessary, or maybe it’s actually a bad idea. Hard to say with no data. So…the question is- does anyone know when/how/if this should be used?

It is an input connection. The connector is a legacy CD-ROM audio cable from the days when we had SoundBlaster sound cards and early Pentium CPUs. Anyway you should be able to still find that connector. RME Audio – VKCD – CD-Rom Audio Cable (neobits.com) Most cables are 4 pin but I found this 3 pin for you. I had one from yesteryear because I save stuff like that. Works just fine.
