I really appreciate the responses. I’m curious to see what you come up with for the Epiques. I should take a look at the 7in version. I was only really considering 8in.
So far I’ve had the best luck with the RSS210HO-4 8ins in WINISD. I can keep the box 1.5-2ft3. I can use a linear vent that is 1 x 9in (length will vary on tower size, but I can 90 it vertically in the box). The issue is the cone excursion. If I try a lowpass filter the curve falls apart. To tvor-ceasar’s point, I’m not sure what happens with a series vs parallel. If I adjust the speaker parameters, there is a series/parallel option. It just doesn’t look any different, which I sure isn’t right. Another issue is finding a sub that will go up to 1500-2000Hz + so there’s room to crossover a tweeter.
I’m wondering if possible to come up with something that will do 25-35Hz for under the cost of the Klipsch 8000Fs ($500/per on sale). Either way, I’m definitely having a lot of fun tinkering.
