I have proffessionally built High End speaker for a Swedish manufacturer (20000$ and up) for many years, and used many brands of midranges (SEAS, Scan-Speak, Audio-technology(C-quenze) etc.) and for the buck spent on the Epique it is awesome, the latest project was actually before your Epic build @123toid 🙂 , but I paired it with Scan-Speak tweeter and mundorf/duelund/janzen components in the crossover. The result is very impressive! I think if you are going to build a pair of speaker so “cheap” as 1000$ this is the way… buy the plans and follow @123toids guiding, you cannot go wrong!
