Charlie, I agree 93-95 dB is quite loud and a significant fraction higher than I typically listen to. I also agree that port velocity is not a concern. My main concern is having a speaker that really shines at lower volumes as opposed to so many that really get into their “sweet spot” when higher power is fed to them.
