Ah the sub woofer quandary!
I have gone back and forth on a few options available to anyone looking for a DIY solution. How big do you wanna go? For my HT, I am thinking of two 18″ or 21″ sub woofers. I have shortlisted the following options:
- Parts Express kit: Dayton 18″ Ultimax Sub woofer kit
- The 21″ Kraken sub woofer driver, housed in MartySubs flat pack by GSG Audio Design.
- The Kraken driver: 21″ Kraken driver
- The MartySubs flat pack: GSG MartySubs flat pack for 21″ drivers
- The @123toid 21″ subwoofers. Here’s the build video: 21″ Sub woofers build video
- GSG Audio Design also sells flat packs called The Devestator for 21″ drivers.
A lot depends on your intended use.
