Greetings y’all. I grew up in Illinois, joined the air force, stationed in California, and currently deployed. Have a lovely wife and 3 amazing sons. I grew up in a small town where you didn’t buy it unless you couldn’t make it or fix it. And that has never changed for me, although a lot of these things I “can” build is an extreme learning curve. I’ve had friends that knew audio really well, I never have but I’ve appreciated it. I’m no audiophile by any means, but I do want a nice system that we can listen to during chores or parties or dinner. But the systems I want I can’t justify the cost. Besides I just love building my own things, my own furniture, my own computers, and now I need to build my own speakers.

I’ve always been interested in building my own, but haven’t dove into the learning how. I discovered kirby meets audio on YouTube, then discovered toid on his Facebook and started watching his channel. I knew him through a high school friend. I knew he was a smart guy, but he’s dove in deeper than I ever expected and I’m sure if I put my mind to it I can learn everything I need to on this forum. Granted, the Dayton speaker’s are what really drove me here, but overall I’m happy I am here.

No idea when I’ll be able to build speakers, but I’ll be around to learn and will definitely post my creations when i have them. I’m looking forward to everything the forum had to offer.

Ha!  As soon as I started reading this, I said, wait is that…sure enough it was!  Dude excited to have you on here.  Crazy to think a town of 700 people (20 years ago) would now have 3 people who live no where near each other on the same forum.  Good luck, I hope you can win them.  They are really nice drivers.  But even if you don’t I plan to keep doing giveaways on drivers that I am accumulating.  Maybe a nice set of tweeters.  Who knows. We look forward to having you on here.

So Dwillems and Nick, who’s the 3rd?

Welcome to the forum, and thank  you for your service.

@robbiedh02 is the guy who got me started originally.  Granted, we didn’t do anything like what I do now.  Butit was his dad’s Def Tech Bp2000’s that blew me away.  Especially with his theater room.  Watching Fast and the Furious was just amazing down there.  And Robbie got me started with some car audio.  Then it kind of grew from there.

I’m nowhere near the league you and robbie are in, but at least I get to learn here. I’m totally blown away with how far you’ve gone and done for everybody. Can’t wait to see how far you’ll go still. Keep it up!

I can’t take any credit for where Nick Has gone with this other then planting the bug in his brain for how much fun it can be creating. I am no where near as talented or knowledgeable as him.

Fixed it for you.  I appreciate the kind words.  I cant’ wait to see some of the projects you do.  I was very proud of my first project.  Looking back at it, I probably shouldn’t have been, lol.  But that is part of the beauty of growing in this hobby.
